AceShowbiz - Busy Philipps is apparently ending 2019 by talking about the worst thing happening to her this year. On New Year's Eve, the star took to her Instagram account to recall the moment when she learned that her E! show "Busy Tonight" was canceled by the network.
Alongside a slew of selfies featuring her crying, Busy wrote in the caption, "Final round of #almostgrams 2019! The Busy Tonight was cancelled round!! On APRIL 5, 2019! I flew to Dallas to shoot commercials over the weekend for Michael's." She went on explaining that once she landed, her manager broke off the news about the cancellation.
"She told me E! would not renew my show after the order was finished in a month. It was effectively cancelled," Busy said. "I was blindsided, especially since the last text I had from the head of E(who's now gone) was about marketing for busy tonight that he was excited to tell me about.
"Anyway. I did what anyone would do. I sat in the lobby of the hotel in Dallas and ordered three tequilas and called Marc, Caissie, Eric, Tina, Caissie again and I cried," she continued. She said she waited for someone from E! to text her but it never came, so she sent one to the head of the network, telling him, "You're bad at your job. Do better."
"Then I took some selfies(first 2 pics), got a text from Marc reminding me about the Deerhunter song(slide 4), made a music video in my hotel room to it(which I posted to my stories at the time), then I went and got a tattoo on my ankle; the illustration from my book from the chapter where I got super fucked over by some dudes in this business(slide 5)," Busy went on saying in the lengthy post.
Busy also shared a few snaps of a letter writen by her daughter Birdie to the network. "You are the worst tv network EVER. Why! Well 1. You got ride of my moms show. 2 you mad alot of people lose there jobs. 3. You suck," read the letter. "well anyways my mom does work much harder than you. so you don't diserve her. she will find another place to do her show when it becomes popular, she will shove it up your a**."
"Busy Tonight" aired 105 episodes after debuting in October 2018 and was canceled in May. Among those who had guested on the show were Kim Kardashian, Julia Roberts, John Stamos, Tracee Ellis Ross and Tess Holliday.
