A spray-paint artwork in honor of the legendary songstress in North Carolina based on her character in the movie 'Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome' has been ruined.

AceShowbiz - A mural in honour of pop star Tina Turner outside a North Carolina record store has been defaced with a red swastika.

Owner of Static Age Records in downtown Asheville, Jesse McSwain told The Citizen Times newspaper that someone unconnected to the store covered "The Best" hitmaker's mural in a black sheet before he could address the situation.

Employees reportedly called police and the Southern Poverty Law Center, with McSwain insisting his store is "a widely inclusive, safe space" and that "hate speech will get you out the door."

The record store is renowned for using its pulldown store front to honour music legends, including Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Lemmy from Motorhead, and Lou Reed.

Turner's mural was based on her character in the film "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome".
