Following her Best New Artist win at the 2019 Grammy Awards, the Albanian singer proves that the trophy is not a curse with her commercially and critically successful new single 'Don't Start Now'.

AceShowbiz - Ever since Dua Lipa launched her career in the music industry as an aspiring artist, the star's career has kept rising without showing any sign of going down. Taking the world of pop by storm, she was named the most streamed artist in 2017 thanks to her breakthrough hit "New Rules", which had been streamed online for more than 1 billion times.
Proving that she's not a one-hit wonder singer, Lipa continued proving her worth through her Calvin Harris collaboration "One Kiss", which topped U.K. Singles Chart for eight consecutive weeks and eventually became the biggest selling of 2018 in the country. Not stopping there, her joint song with Silk City was also commercial success, topping Billboard's Dance Club Songs and peaked at No. 4 on U.K. Singles Chart.
With such feat, it was only natural for her to be receiving awards. Lipa was the first female artist to be nominated for five categories at the 2018 Brit Awards, before ending up bringing home two awards. What's more, she was named Best New Artist at the 2019 Grammy Awards, something that was obviously amazing considering that Grammys was the biggest award show in the music industry. In addition to that, her Silk City collaboration won Best Dance Recording at the event.
All the achievement that she received only made Lipa be more eager to do better in music. Kicking off the promotion for her upcoming sophomore album, the Albanian singer released its first single "Don't Start Now" to both commercial and critically success. The song topped Irish's music chart and debuted within top ten at U.K. Singles Chart. Meanwhile, in the United States, "Don't Start Now" became her third top 40 entry.
Rolling Stone listed it among 2019's "most glamorous new tunes" and "strongest bass lines," while DIY deemed it "an empowerment bop" and "funkier number than her former fare, replete with the kind of bass line Mark Ronson would be proud of."
The release date of her sophomore album has yet to be revealed.
