AceShowbiz - Rapper Remy Ma has put New York prosecutors on blast for pursuing assault charges against her, insisting it's a "waste" of public resources.

The "All the Way Up" hitmaker, real name Reminisce Mackie, is facing four misdemeanour counts, including assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree, for allegedly punching "Love & Hip Hop: New York" star Brittney Taylor backstage at the Pretty Lou Benefit Concert in April.

She appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court for a brief hearing on Tuesday, November 12, when the judge overseeing her case adjourned proceedings to 2 December.

Grumbling about the ongoing legal action, Remy told the New York Post's Page Six it was "just more of a waste of the taxpayers' money."

Her lawyer, Dawn Florio, is currently seeking to have the charges dismissed.
