AceShowbiz - Mayim Bialik has landed a pair of Hollywood heavyweights for her directorial debut - Dustin Hoffman and Candice Bergen.

The veterans will join Olivia Thirlby and Bialik's "The Big Bang Theory" castmate Simon Helberg in "As Sick As They Made Us, which the virgin director also wrote.

The movie revolves around a successful divorced mother-of-two, who finds love while trying to regroup her dysfunctional family following the death of a loved one.

The project is loosely based on a real-life drama Mayim went through following the death of her father.

"It is an incredible honour and a writer and director's dream come true to work with actors I've respected and adored my entire life," Bialik says of her cast. "I cannot wait to see what we can create together".
