The incident took place during a break from filming when a background actor pushed a female employee for being told to get to the back of the queue after cutting the line for the snacks table.

AceShowbiz - A brawl erupted on the set of "Madam Secretary" when a background actor cut the line to get to the snacks table.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ the fight had to be broken up on the set of the show, which films in Whippany, New Jersey, on Friday, November 1, when several hundred background actors were present to film a scene where Tea Leoni's U.S. President character Elizabeth Adams McCord gives a speech.

During a break from filming, the extras reportedly swarmed the catering area, when an actor cut the line and was told by a female craft services staffer to get to the back of the queue.

Sources claimed the actor pushed the female employee, at which point her husband, who works alongside her, attacked the extra - causing him to land on the snack table, as the employee punched him several more times in the face, leaving him bloodied.

Cops reportedly had to peel the employee off the actor, who was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. Statements were taken from all parties involved, but no arrests have yet been made.
