Movie

The upcoming documentary is directed by Nick Knight and is promised to feature '13 songs arranged by West in the gospel tradition and performed by the Sunday Service choir.'

AceShowbiz - Kanye West is gearing up to release his IMAX film "Jesus Is King" while he keeps delaying the release of his new album with the same title. The rapper has just debuted a new teaser trailer for the upcoming documentary movie.

The one-minute-long sneak peek is set to a rendition by a gospel choir and offers a glimpse into the Rodan Crater, artist James Turrell's never-before-seen installation in Arizona's Painted Desert where much of the movie was filmed. It ends with a quote from the Bible verse Mark 1:15 which reads, "In the words of Jesus Christ, 'The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe in the gospel.' "

The "Jesus Is King" movie is described as "one-of-a-kind experience" that "features songs arranged by West in the gospel tradition along with new music from his forthcoming album 'JESUS IS KING' - all presented in the immersive sound and stunning clarity of The IMAX Experience."

Nick Knight directs the documentary. Additional photography for the film was shot on the rapper's ranch outside Cody, Wyoming.

Due to the indefinite delay of Kanye's new album, fans doubt that his movie will arrive on time. "I wonder when this will be delayed until," one Twitter user commented on the trailer. Another skeptic fan reacted, "Don't lie to me Ye," while someone else added, "Watch him delay the movie too."

However, IMAX representative Mark Jafar has confirmed that the movie will drop as promised next Friday, October 25, but it's not clear which cities will screen the film. According to Rolling Stones, the film will hit more than 325 IMAX theaters nationwide plus another 125+ internationally for a one-week-only limited engagement.

Kanye's foray into gospel music and film is a testament of his renewed faith in Christ. His pastor Adam Tyson recently recalled the "Gold Digger" hitmaker once told him, "I was just under the weight of my sin. And I was being convicted that I was running from God. And I knew I needed to make things right. So, I came to Christ. I came out of darkness into the light." The pastor believes Kanye has been "radically saved."
