During an appearance at the ACE Comic Con in Chicago, Illinois, the 'Rocketman' star admits that he is slightly baffled by reports he's up for replacing Hugh Jackman as the X-Men member.

AceShowbiz - Taron Egerton has fuelled rumours he'll be the next big screen Wolverine, confessing he hopes to look more like the surly comic book character when the next Marvel movie is casting.

The Brit was asked about reports he's up for replacing his "Eddie the Eagle" castmate Hugh Jackman as the clawed X-Men character at the ACE Comic Con in Chicago, Illinois over the weekend (October 12-13), and he didn't deny being game for the role.

"I think the Logan thing is really interesting but I'm slightly baffled by it - I've never felt like a Wolverine sort of guy," Taron said.

"I know that one's (movie) a few years away. I know that (Marvel president) Kevin (Feige) spoke about it being a few years away. Maybe in a few years, I'll look rough enough for it. I've made no secret of the fact that I'm a fan of those movies and of course I would love to be a part of them."

Jackman stepped down as Logan and his alter ego Wolverine after 2017's "Logan", insisting he would never play the role again. He first played the character in 2000's "X-Men".
