AceShowbiz - Years of being in constant spotlight has apparently trained Katie Holmes to handle unexpected things. The 40-year-old actress was ambushed by an overzealous fan while stepping out in New York City on Friday, September 27, but she didn't seem to be flustered at all.
The female fan looked overly excited when she bumped into the "Logan Lucky" star while they were strolling through Midtown Manhattan. The stranger suddenly grabbed the actress by the waist without asking and screamed while holding a can of Lime-a-rita.
Instead of panicking or looking terrified, the "Dawson's Creek" alum managed to handle the situation with grace. She kindly smiled at her fan and returned the hug, before continuing her business like nothing had happened.
Katie was effortlessly chic during the outing. She donned a pale denim shirt underneath a navy blue patterned jacket and a pair of distressed jeans. She completed her look with a strap handbag, heeled boots, sunglasses and minimal jewelry, while her hair was pulled back into a messy bun.
Katie was recently spotted with a male companion at Milan Fashion Week. The actress/director walked arm in man with the mystery guy as they left the star-studded Spring 2020 Fendi show earlier this month.
Her sighting with the mystery guy came a month after it was reported that she had split from her longtime boyfriend Jamie Foxx earlier this year. The couple reportedly called it quits in May, after more than five years together, though the breakup news didn't surface until August. A Page Six source overheard Katie telling friends she and Jamie were done over dinner at New York restaurant La Esquina, explaining, "We haven't been together for months."
Around the same time the split rumors surfaced, Jamie was spotted leaving a Los Angeles nightclub hand-in-hand with up-and-coming singer Sela Vave. He, however, has denied that he's dating the young singer/model.
"I'm escorting her to my car, to put her in the car - my artist, who hangs out with my kids and is as young as my daughter," he said in Instagram videos shared by Sela last month. He also said during a phone interview with Real 92.3's "Big Boy's Neighborhood" radio show, "I got a 25-year-old daughter and I don't date in my daughter's range... ever!" He added, "Big, you got kids and I got kids. I always try to make sure that my daughter can look at me and say, 'Hey dad, you ain't screwing up.' "
