The 'Oops!... I Did It Again' singer took her sons away from her father right after the incident and agreed with her ex Kevin Federline to report it to police, according to a source.

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears sides with her ex Kevin Federline as her father Jamie Spears is slapped with a protective order that bars him from having any contact with her and Kevin's children, 13-year-old Sean and 12-year-old Jayden. Kevin reportedly alerted police to an alleged violent incident involving his sons and their grandfather in late August.
Now E! News reports that the 37-year-old singer is "very angry" after her father allegedly abused one of her sons. "Britney was very upset with her dad and left with the boys," a source tells the site. "She never wants Jamie to treat her boys the way he did or to get involved with disciplining them in that way."
The source says it was Britney who told Kevin about the alleged abuse incident. "Britney had to explain to Kevin what happened and he felt they had no choice but to go to the police," the so-called insider explains. "Kevin wants to protect his boys."
Britney and her legal team have agreed to give the boys' father full legal custody. Her visitation time with her kids will continue to be monitored, but her dad can no longer be the monitor. According to the source, "Britney is extremely anxious and paranoid about losing custody and she feels Jamie put her in jeopardy" because her father still acts as her conservator.
Confirming E! News' report, another source allegedly close to Britney tells PEOPLE that "Britney got upset as well and ended their visit with Jamie" after a "physical contact that made Sean scared and upset."
"Both of Britney's boys are very well-behaved and well-mannered. What happened with Jamie and Sean was very unfortunate and definitely not right," so the source claims. The source adds that the pop star "can't believe that her dad would jeopardize her relationship with her boys." The source reveals, "Britney is always terrified that she will lose custody."
The alleged incident took place on August 24 after Sean "locked himself in a room" because his grandfather asked him to do something "he wasn't interested in doing." The Blast reported that Jamie broke down the bedroom door and "violently shook" the teenager. Britney then took her sons to someplace safe.
