AceShowbiz - Viola Davis will star as former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama in the forthcoming White House series "First Ladies".

"The Help" star will also serve as executive producer on the drama, which will be written by political novelist Aaron Cooley. The series focuses on women who made their own significant contributions to American life while their husbands served as president.

Season one of the Showtime series will focus on Obama, Eleanor Roosevelt and Betty Ford.

Davis is currently filming the sixth and final season of her hit TV drama "How to Get Away with Murder".
