Through a short clip taped in front of New York's iconic 'Ghostbusters' headquarters, the 'Ant-Man' star confirms that he has officially joined the cast of the Jason Reitman-directed upcoming film.

AceShowbiz - Paul Rudd has officially joined the cast of the new "Ghostbusters" movie.

The "Ant-Man" star revealed the news in a video he posted on social media on Thursday, June 27 as he stood in front of New York's iconic "Ghostbusters" headquarters.

Filming fans posing for photos outside from across the street, Rudd revelaed he "loved" the original movies, adding, "I'm a fan," and then explaining his agent called director Jason Reitman and asked him "who you gonna call" to play "a semi-young, strapping man" in the new film, "Ghostbusters 2020".

Reitman, whose dad Ivan directed the original "Ghostbusters" movie, told the agent that Rudd was at the top of his wish list.

The 50-year-old says, "I nearly slimed myself," adding he "can't wait" to get started on the latest film.

Carrie Coon, "Stranger Things" star Finn Wolfhard, and child actress Mckenna Grace are also in the running for roles, according to Variety.
