The 'L.A.'s Finest' actress confesses, during an appearance at the Her Campus Media's annual Her Conference, that she decides to bring Honor to counselling sessions due to her own upbringing.

AceShowbiz - Jessica Alba has made her commitment to wellness a family affair by taking her 10-year-old daughter Honor to therapy sessions.

The "Sin City" actress made an appearance at the Her Campus Media's annual Her Conference in Boston on Saturday, June 01, where she revealed she and her eldest daughter regularly attend counselling sessions together.

The Honest Company founder told the crowd the sit downs help her "be a better mother" and "communicate better" with Honor.

Alba was motivated to make mental health awareness part of Honor's upbringing because the subject was neglected by her strict Catholic family growing up.

"Some people think, like in my family, you talk to a priest and that's it," she added. "I didn't grow up in an environment where you talked about this stuff, and it was just like, 'Shut it down and keep it moving....' "

"I find a lot of inspiration just in talking to my kids."
