The 'Avengers: Endgame' actor says he's quitting showbusiness for the remainder of the year and will spend more time in Byron Bay, Australia with his wife Elsa Pataky and their children.

AceShowbiz - After enjoying a meteoric rise to fame, thanks to his role as Thor in Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Hemsworth is still putting his family first. Following the end of the Avengers' duty in "Avengers: Endgame", the 35-year-old actor himself is keen on enjoying an extended downtime with his family in his native Australia.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph (via Daily Mail), the "Ghostbusters (2016)" star says that he's taking a break from Hollywood for the remainder of the year to spend more time with his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children, 7-year-old India Rose and 5-year-old twins Tristan and Sasha, in Byron Bay, a coastal town in northern New South Wales.

"This year I probably won't shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids," he says. "They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before."

Chris and Elsa got married in 2010 after being introduced to each other by talent agent William Ward less than a year before. After welcoming three children, they relocated from Los Angeles to Byron Bay in 2014. The pair purchased a $7.2 million property in September 2014 and have been expanding the house into a mega mansion since late 2017.

Back in August 2018, Chris talked about how difficult it was to leave his family to work overseas. "She's normally like, 'Yeah, see you, daddy. Cool.' [This time] she was like, 'Papa! Papa! Papa!' " he said about saying goodbye to his daughter India Rose in an interview with GQ. "She doesn't always call me Papa, either."

Fans, however, should not be worried that they won't be seeing Chris on screen for a long time as the actor has already filmed several movies for this year's release. He has been promoting "Men in Black International", which is due out on June 14 and reunites him with "Thor: Ragnarok" co-star Tessa Thompson. He's also starring in upcoming comedy "Jay and Silent Bob Reboot" and Netflix's movie "Dhaka".
