Having portrayed real-life genius Robin Cavendish and Eduardo Saverin, the 'Hacksaw Ridge' star teams up with director James Marsh for a drama film based on the pianist's bestselling memoir.

AceShowbiz - Andrew Garfield is set to play another real-life genius after signing up for James Marsh's new drama "Instrumental".

Garfield, who has portrayed medical aid inventor Robin Cavendish and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin on the big screen, will tackle the role of internationally acclaimed concert pianist James Rhodes in the new movie, based on the musician's bestselling memoir.

Lionsgate studio bosses will launch world sales for the film at the Cannes Film Festival next week (begin May 13).

Rhodes devoted his life to music after he became a victim of sexual abuse as a pupil at an all-boys school.

The pianist prodigy also suffered spinal damage and post traumatic stress disorder, but his abuser died before he could appear in court.
