Universal Music to Release Notre Dame-Centered Album to Help Raise Money for Restoration Fund

The album, which will feature classical artists like Jessye Norman, Pierre Cochereau and Olivier Latry, will include performances that are inspired by the iconic building.

AceShowbiz - Universal Music bosses are releasing a new album featuring performances at and inspired by Notre Dame Cathedral in a bid to raise cash for the Paris tourist attraction.

The building was gutted by a fire earlier this week and now there's a race against time to rebuild the church.

Universal's new album, which will be released on Friday, April 19, features American opera star Jessye Norman singing "Ave Maria" in the Cathedral and French composers Pierre Cochereau and Olivier Latry's performances on the famous Notre Dame organ, which miraculously survived the fire.

The album will also feature artists including Cecilia Bartoli, Roberto Alagna, Christopher Hogwood, and Herbert von Karajan.

The proceeds of the album will be donated to la Fondation du patrimoine to help fund the restoration of the iconic building.
