'Holy Man', which was being worked on by The Beach Boys' co-founder when he died, has been completed by Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor in collaboration with Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins.

AceShowbiz - A lost track late The Beach Boys star Dennis Wilson was working on when he died is to be released as part of 2019 Record Store Day on Saturday, April 13.

Queen stars Brian May and Roger Taylor teamed up with Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins to complete the song, which Wilson started work on more than 40 years ago.

The rock legend wrote and recorded "Holy Man" in the mid-1970s but didn't complete it in time to add it to his only solo album, "Pacific Ocean Blue".

Hawkins added vocals a decade ago and May and Taylor added their parts for the soundtrack to an abandoned Wilson biopic, starring Aaron Eckhart as the late Beach Boys drummer.

The release of the finished song was initially blocked due to a legal wrangle, but now it will be one of the limited edition offerings available at independent record stores on Saturday.

Longtime Beach Boys collaborator Stephen Kalinich, who is one of few people to have heard the track, told The Sun in 2017, "It's over six minutes long and it's a masterpiece, but we've never been able to release it because we can't get the legalities worked out. Such a shame. People hear it and, honest to God, it brings tears to their eyes."
