The Hussle and Motivate MC, real name Ermias Davidson Asghedom, was gunned down outside his Los Angeles clothing store on March 31, and now his loved ones are preparing to honour his memory with a Celebration of Life event at the city's Staples Center on Thursday, April 11.

The free service is expected to be a star-studded affair, and Hamilton is will be among the many artists hitting the stage, according to reports.

According to The Blast, the "Comin' From Where I'm From" singer actually collaborated with Nipsey for his debut album, "Victory Lap", but the song didn't make the final tracklisting for the 2018 release.

Meanwhile, Nipsey's mother and father have broken their silence about their son's death in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

In the chat, his dad, Dawit Asghedom, expressed his belief that Nipsey died because he had completed God's task of spreading love, while his mum, Angelique Smith, encouraged fans to remember him as "a humble, spirited, respectful man who had, since his childhood, had an extraordinary and unlimited intellectual capacity."
