The 'Bodak Yellow' hitmaker admits to doing dirty things during her days as a stripper 'to survive,' but insists that she never glorifies them.

AceShowbiz - Cardi B has admitted to doing "wrong things" in the past after an old video in which she said she used to drug and rob men resurfaced. Three years ago, she said in Instagram Live, "I had to go strip, I had to go, 'Oh yeah, you want to f**k me? Yeah yeah yeah, let's go back to this hotel,' and I drugged n****s up and I robbed them. That's what I used to do."

The video caused backlash and made the hashtag #SurvivingCardiB trending on Twitter. After receiving so much attention for her past, the 26-year-old issued a statement via Instagram.

"So I'm seeing on social media that a live I did 3 years ago has popped back up. A live where I talked about things I had to do in my past, right or wrong, that I felt I needed to do to make a living. I never claim to be perfect or come from a perfect world with a perfect past. I always speak my truth. I always own my s**t," she said.

While she admitted to her dark past, the Bronx femcee said she never glorified those crimes. "There are rappers that glorify murder, violence, drugs, and robbing. Crimes they feel they had to do to survive," she continued. "I never glorified the things I brought up in that live I never even put those things in my music because I'm not proud of it and feel a responsibility not to glorify it."

"I made the choices that I did at the same time because I had very limited options. I was blessed to have been able to rise from that but so many women have not. Whether or not they were poor choices at the time I did what I had to do to survive," she insisted. "I have a past that I can't change we all do."

Cardi added in the caption, "All I can do now is be a better me for myself my family and my future."

The "Money" hitmaker has since received support from her followers. "Well said Boo we all have been there and had to do s**t we not proud of but the important thing is you continue to rise above it," one wrote in the comment section. "You are an inspiration baby and the hate is going to always be strong but the love will over power it."

Another added, "People will always judge you. No matter what you do they will always find the wrong. Hey people will even say this English is too perfect to be written by me. But then again, who cares what they think! Keep living cardi. #TeamDominican love you."

"that's who you were, this is who you are. They saw it and said nothing long time now ....now it's a prob. RIP to past mistakes...KIP to winning," read another comment.
