AceShowbiz - Rap mogul Damon Dash is planning to turn himself in to New York authorities to deal with the outstanding arrest warrants against him for failure to pay child support.
The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder was slapped with warrants for his arrest by a New York judge in 2015 after being accused of owing almost $400,000 (£303,000) in back child support to Cindy Morales, the mother of his son Lucky, born in 2004, and ex-wife Rachel Roy, the mother of his daughters Ava, 19, and Tallulah, 10.
In videos obtained by TMZ.com, the 47-year-old announced his intention to turn himself in, claiming that he has proof that he's innocent and he's had enough of having to miss events in New York, like his aunt's funeral.
"I wasn't there (in New York) to answer (to the warrants) but I didn't realise that no one had been paying the child support," he said. "When I finally realised what happened I was like, 'Yo, I don't have nothing to do with that! She (Roy) cuts her own cheques!' and I had just given my son's mother $150,000 to buy a house so I'm like, 'Why am I having warrants?'"
"I've missed funerals, I haven't been able to see my son and I'm just sick of this s**t. And I just found out that I have proof that she got the money, so I'm like, 'F**k it, I'mma turn myself in'. I'll sit in jail for three or four days or whatever they want to accuse me of doing. I'm an innocent man. There's no reason for me to not turn myself in. I'm sick of my name being compromised and I want my company back 'cause I got it back. I'm not going to be leveraged."
He concluded the video by saying fashion designer Roy wants him to hand over the majority ownership of the Rachel Roy Collection, the company they co-own. He also claimed that she draws the support payments he owes directly from his share of the company.
Dash and Roy were locked in a fierce custody battle following their divorce in 2009, and she was ultimately awarded sole custody of both their daughters.
He also has an adult son named Damon from his previous relationship with Linda Williams.
