AceShowbiz - DMX is wasting no time to get back to work since being released from prison. The 48-year-old rapper hit the stage for the first time to entertain the audience at supper club Mr. Ciao in Staten Island, New York over the weekend.

In a video which was posted by the club on its official Instagram account, the crowd could be seen fully enjoying DMX's performance. The rapper belted out a few of his classics such as "Party Up", "Where the Hood at?" and "Ruff Ryders' Anthem". Accompanying the video was a caption which read, "DMX you saved the day!!! Thank you to all that came to party see you February 10th for brunch with @djcamilo."

DMX was booked as a replacement for Ja Rule, who was forced to pull out due to undisclosed reasons. While the exact reason is unknown, Rule recently faced harsh criticism due to the airing of Fyre Festival documentaries. Meanwhile, it's reported that DMX's second post-prison performance will take place on May 12 in Miami.

Aside from returning to the stage, DMX apparently is more than ready to get back making music, according to Swizz Beatz. Recalling his phone conversation with the New York-born spitter, the record producer shared, "I just got off the phone with my brother DMX! He told me this time he didn't work out his body in jail he said he worked out his mind! He also said he's about to make music for the people that need his truth and pain."

DMX served a year in the Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution in Glenville, West Virginia after pleading guilty to federal tax evasion charges. Following his release, it's reported that the "X Gon Give It to Ya" rapper will be under supervised release for three years.
