The 'Party Up (Up in Here)' rapper, who was sentenced to one year in prison for federal tax evasion, will still be placed under supervision for three years following his discharge.

AceShowbiz - Jailed rapper DMX will be a free man on Friday, January 25, according to reports.

The hip hop star, real name Earl Simmons, has been behind bars since January, 2018 and was hit with a one-year sentence in March for federal tax evasion.

He was scheduled to leave Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution in West Virginia on Sunday, but his release date has been brought forward to 9 am local time on Friday.

"He's coming home tomorrow," his lawyer Murray Richman tells Billboard. "I spoke to him, he's very happy. He's looking forward to being home."

DMX will be under supervised release for the next three years.

Richman insists his client has a busy schedule ahead of him, adding, "He's never been hotter than now. People have been seeking him out all over."

TMZ sources claim he has received numerous offers for a biopic and he is planning to release a new album later this year.
