AceShowbiz - The 43-year-old music producer is joining returning stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, along with fellow newcomers Vanessa Hudgens and Alexander Ludwig, on "Bad Boys for Life". It is not yet known what role he will play.

Smith, 50, recently revealed on Instagram that production on the movie is finally underway.

"First day of shooting tomorrow!" he captioned a shot of him with co-star Lawrence. "We watched Bad Boys 1 & 2 together over the weekend. It's about to be KRAZY!".

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are on hand to direct the sequel, with Jerry Bruckheimer returning as producer.

The highly-anticipated movie follows Smith and Lawrence's characters Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett as they clash with a highly specialised police unit when a new threat emerges in Miami.

"Bad Boys for Life", a follow-up to 1995's "Bad Boys" and 2003's "Bad Boys 2", is set to be released in January 2020.
