The director of 'A Wrinkle in Time' is expected to work on projects in drama, comedy, event series, documentaries, digital content and other platforms starting January 2019.

AceShowbiz - Filmmaker Ava DuVernay has reportedly signed a $100 million (£78.5 million) deal with bosses at Warner Bros. Television Group.

The "Selma" director's multi-year and multi-genre overall deal will begin in January (2019) and will include projects in drama, comedy, longform and event series, documentaries, digital content, and other platforms, according to Deadline.

"Warner Bros. is a terrific partner about matters of visibility and belonging for all kinds and cultures of people, which is our mission at (my company) Forward Movement," the "A Wrinkle in Time" director says. "I couldn't be happier to call Warner Bros. TV my production home."

DuVernay first teamed up with bosses at the studio on her TV series "Queen Sugar", which she executive produces alongside Oprah Winfrey.
