AceShowbiz - Actress Hayden Panettiere found herself caught up in a heated altercation with her new boyfriend and his father during a recent trip to South Carolina.
The former "Nashville" star and her man Brian Hickerson had travelled to his native South Carolina in late October to visit his family, when the realtor and aspiring actor allegedly became embroiled in a fight with his dad, David.
Police were called to investigate a claim of assault and battery at the Greenville property, where cops witnessed Brian apparently chasing his father through the house, according to their official report, obtained by TMZ.
Brian was placed in handcuffs while the officers investigated the incident, but he is said to have been uncooperative, while David, who was noted to have severe bruising and bleeding on his face, allegedly played down the clash by insisting he had just fallen.
Authorities also spoke to Hayden to try and get to the bottom of the altercation, which the actress admitted had taken place after she and David had been drinking.
It's not clear if police decided to take any further action regarding the incident, and representatives for Panettiere have yet to comment.
She has been linked to Brian since August, shortly after her split from her fiance Wladimir Klitschko was made public.
Hayden and the now-retired Ukrainian boxer had been dating since 2009, and became engaged in 2013, a year before welcoming their daughter Kaya.
Her relationship with Brian appeared to be going from strength-to-strength just before the family fall-out, as she had also taken her new beau to Florida to meet her relatives.
