The singer, who competed in the first season of the NBC singing competition show, has lost her battle with endometrial cancer.

After news broke out that Beverly McClellan, a former contestant on the first season of "The Voice", has lost her battle against endometrial cancer, fellow musicians and others alike took to their social media accounts to express their condolences and share their grief.

Christina Aguilera, who served as Beverly's coach on the singing competition, sent her prayers on her Twitter account on Tuesday, October 30. "It's with a heavy heart that I say, 'May you now rest in peace!' My heart goes out to #beverlymcclellan's family and love ones," wrote the "Beautiful" singer in accompaniment to Beverly's performance picture.

Nakia Reynoso, who competed alongside Beverly on the show, also told his fans that he is "absolutely heartbroken" by the sad news. He went on to remember Beverly as a "truly a unique soul with a beautiful heart, full of passion & an amazing talent." He then shared a link to a video of them performing a duet to Christina's "Beautiful" while on tour.

"The Voice" has also issued its condolences to the singer's family on Wednesday, October 31. Through its Instagram account, the NBC series shared a bittersweet note that read, "The only thing greater than Beverly McClellan's voice was her heart. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and fans during this difficult time."

Beverly passed away after a long battle against cancer on Tuesday, October 30, afternoon. She was 49 years old. Her wife Monique Garcia McClellan confirmed news of her death a day after. "I wanted to share some news that was mine to share but unfortunately due to some disrespect I was not the first to share it. Beverly McClellan went home at 4:36 pm," she wrote in a statement released on her Facebook.

Monique assured fans that Beverly "was surrounded by so much love and we shared some beautiful last days." She went on to offer her gratitude for the continuing support others had given to them. "Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of us. We appreciate all of the love you have given and the good vibes you have sent," she noted. "Peace love and light to you and your loved ones."

Beverly was diagnosed with with stage 3 endometrial cancer back in March 2018. According to her GoFundMe page, her Big C had spread to her colon, bladder and intestines. The GoFundMe page was created to raise money for Beverly's hospital bills, and had collected around $32,000 before she succumbed to the disease.
