Fans of the former first daughter were disappointed after learning that she was cut out from the music video.

AceShowbiz - Malia Obama could have just made her first music video debut, but her appearance was edited out before many people could even watch it. The eldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama initially appeared in indie rock band New Dakotas' "Walking on Air" music video.

The 20-year-old girl was supposed to appear at 01:44 and 02:01 mark in the video, joining an audition to be a replacement for one of the band members. Rocking a black oversized sweatshirt and matching wool hat, she passionately played harmonica and jammed out to the song while dancing.

Fans of the former first daughter were disappointed after learning that she was cut out from the music video. "I came to this because I wanted to see OBAMA! Not this other stuff they did just to get views," one said in the comment section. "I came her for nothing, like most people did...," another disappointed fan wrote.

It remains unclear why her appearance was removed from the video, though one user suspected that the band was asked to remove it. Rep for New Dakotas, whose members are all Malia's seniors at Harvard University, did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Even though it may be disappointing that her appearance in the music video was edited out, this is not the first time for Malia to get involved in entertainment industry. She completed high school interships on the set of HBO's "Girls" and CBS' "Extant", where she worked as a production assistant. She also interned at the Weinstein Company, shortly before Harvey Weinsten's sexual misconduct scandal broke out.

Malia is currently studying at Harvard after taking a gap year off. Talking about the moment when the young girl went to the university for the first time, former president Obama said, "I was proud that I did not cry in front of her. But on the way back, the Secret Service was looking straight ahead pretending they weren't hearing me as I sniffled and blew my nose. It was rough."
