During her appearance on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, the singer accidentally tells the host, 'Why don't you read the s***ty ones?'

AceShowbiz - Red-faced Ariana Grande had to apologise after swearing during a live radio interview in Britain on Wednesday, September 05.

The singer was promoting her new album Sweetener on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge when she let slip a bad word.

As host Clara Amfo told Grande she was about to read out nice comments from listeners, the singer joked, "Why don't you read the s**tty ones?"

The presenter immediately apologised to listeners who may have been offended, prompting an embarrassed Grande to state, "Oh my God, I'm so sorry, Oh my God I'm so sorry. My bad."

Grande went on to perform three new tracks during her Live Lounge session and a cover of Them Changes by Thundercat.

The pop star is also caught up in controversy back home in the U.S. after wearing what many felt was an inappropriate little black dress to Aretha Franklin's funeral on Friday, August 31.

Among those criticising Ariana for her choice of outfit is soul legend Smokey Robinson, who believes the star's stylists should have intervened and reminded her she would be attending and performing at a funeral.

"She's a young woman and she's doing her young thing," he told TMZ, "and I think it was inappropriate. I do. I love her (Grande), I think she's a great talent (but) somebody in her camp should have told her she was at a funeral and not let that happen. I don't think she was trying to be disrespectful... It was just inappropriate."

Ariana belted out Aretha's (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman at the funeral service in Detroit, Michigan.

Meanwhile, Grande performed in the U.K. for the first time since the One Love Manchester benefit concert in June, 2017 on Wednesday night, September 05, when she hit the stage at London's KOKO as part of Capital FM's Up Close series.

After the show, Grande tweeted: "omg (oh my God) london i love u that was so special thank u sm (so much)."
