AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift has explained her album Reputation is about love and not revenge.

At an intimate show for superfans recorded in Chicago, the 28-year-old singer discussed her inspiration for the hit album which led with the blistering single Look What You Made Me Do that took shots at Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West.

However, she explained to fans at the Taylor Swift NOW concert, that despite calling out her enemies, the album is really about "finding love throughout all the noise".

"(I) think there was a bit of a bait-and-switch that happened with this album when we put out Look What You Made Me Do and we're like, 'Guys, this album is gonna be one thing.' And when the album came out, it's legitimately an album about finding love throughout all the noise," she told her Swifties in a clip from the show obtained by editors at Entertainment Tonight.

"And so it starts with the noise and how that makes all you feel, and how it makes you feel when people are saying things about you that you feel, like, aren’t true and living your life sort of in defiance of that. In defiance of your reputation."

Taylor, who was heavily criticised after Kim released a Snapchat video confirming the singer had given Kanye permission to rap about her on his infamous single Famous, which she initially denied, added that having a "bad reputation" isn't the end of the world.

"If you can find something real in spite of a bad reputation, then isn't that what matters the most to you? And doesn't it matter the most to you that you know who your real friends are now?" said the Bad Blood singer, who performed stripped down versions of hits including Delicate and Shake It Off during the show.
