AceShowbiz - Rapper Offset has been served legal papers by a fan who was allegedly assaulted while seeking an autograph.

In May, Giovanni Arnold claimed he was attacked by three bodyguards after trying to get close to then-pregnant Cardi B and her Migos star husband at The Mark Hotel in New York after the Met Gala.

He was allegedly hospitalised for face, neck, back and body injuries, and sued Cardi, Offset and the hotel bosses, seeking unspecified damages.

According to The Blast, Offset, real name Kiari Cephus, was in New York on Tuesday when a photographer tried to hand him a pile of rolled up papers. The 26 year old did not take them and the photographer then told the rapper the papers were about the lawsuit.

Offset again refused to take the documents, but the process server put them in his window as his sports utility vehicle pulled off. The papers subsequently fell onto the ground when the truck left, but the process server took video of the interaction to prove the documents had been properly served.

The new parents are also facing a countersuit from The Mark Hotel executives, who are denying responsibility for the scuffle, insisting any judgment Arnold may win should be paid by Cardi B and her husband. The hotel executives are demanding the dismissal of all claims against them.
