'America's Got Talent' Live Results Recap: Only 7 Acts Advance to the Semifinals

AceShowbiz - The Wednesday, August 22 episode of "America's Got Talent" season 13 was undoubtly one of the most thrilling moments in the season. The episode would see which 7 acts among total 12 contestants who performed in the August 21 episode advanced to the semifinals.

Before announcing the first semifinalist, host Tyra Banks revealed the three contestants eligible for the Dunkin' Save, a live vote to take place during the rest of the show. The one with the most popular would earn the sixth slot. The three acts were Makayla Phillips, Front Pictures, and Da Republik.

It was revealed that Front Pictures pulled in 38% votes during the first wave of results. Makayla was at 37%, while Da Republik was last with 25%.

The first act to advance to the semifinals was singer/songwriter Noah Guthrie. Meanwhile, Quin & Misha and Yumbo Dump were eliminated.

Joining Noah in the semifinals was children's choir Voices of Hope, who screamed with delight after Tyra announced them as the second semifinalist. Savitsky Cats was sent home, unfortunately.

Glennis Grace and Samuel J. Comroe were brought up to the stage to learn their fate. There are only a few slots left and both of them hoped that they got one of them. None of them would be going home since they both made it through.

Before the Dunkin's Save, Duo Trancend and Sacred Riana went face-to-face. Only one of them would move to the next round, while the other would have to pack their bag and went home. It turned out Sacred Riana had lost her curse as Duo Transcend was announced as the last of the five acts.

And it was time for the Dunkin' Save results. Makayla quickly fell to her knees and cried when Tyra revealed she went to the semifinals. With that being said, there was only one slot left and the decision was on the judges' hand.

Heidi Klum, alongside Melanie Brown, chose Da Republik. Meanwhile, Howie Mandel picked Front Pictures. Now, the decision was all down to Simon Cowell, who went with Da Republik. It's all settled then, Da Republik joined the six others on the semifinals.

Da Republik, Glennis Grace, Noah Guthrie, Makayla Phillips, Samuel J. Comroe, aerialists Duo Transcend and children's choir Voices of Hope will join ourtney Hadwin, Angel City Chorale, Vicki Barbolak, Junior New System, Shin Lim, Amanda Mena and We Three on the semifinals. Congratulations!
