AceShowbiz - Reality star Lyric McHenry was found dead after celebrating her birthday with friends. New York City police confirm a 26-year-old female was found on a sidewalk above the Major Deegan Expressway at Undercliff Ave. and Boscobel Place in Highbridge in the Bronx area of New York on Tuesday morning, August 14 at 5 A.M. She was transported to Bronx-Lebanon hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was reportedly 20 weeks pregnant.
According to NY Daily News, she was found only wearing a pajama top and underwear, but no pants. She reportedly had a bag of cocaine in her possession. Sources say Lyric was found "sprawled out on the sidewalk" and that her "knees were bruised, but there were no other visible injuries."
NYPD PIO Officer Detective Brown says, "The name of victim has not been released because family has not been notified" and that "there were no obvious signs of trauma." The victim "will be examined and cause of death will be determined," but police suspect she suffered a drug overdose.
Lyric was featured on EJ Johnson's reality show "EJNYC" in 2016. She also served as a producer on the series. The Stanford University graduate went on to work as an associate producer for Complex Networks before becoming a freelance writer and producer in 2017.
Hours before she was found dead, Lyric celebrated her birthday during a night out with friends. She shared on Instagram Stories videos of her at The Frederick Hotel, the Soho Grand Hotel and the Dream Hotel. In one of the clips, she was smiling in a bathroom wearing a pink dress.
Her sister Maya McHenry, who also appeared on "EJNYC", was among those celebrating her birthday with Lyric. "Happy birthday to my sister! Why does she look so bomb? It's a joke, okay," Maya said as Lyric smiled into the camera.
EJ, the son of former basketball star Magic Johnson, wished Lyric a happy birthday on Instagram last week. "Happy birthday to my best friend who has strutted with my in princess gowns since day 1 @lyric_leigh," he wrote, "words cannot express how much I love and appreciate you in my life. Your constant love, respect and companionship gives me the confidence to live my truth every single day and I am so blessed that even as baby divas we recognized the greatness in each other. I love you #leoseason #teamthis."
Her last Instagram post was dated August 12. She posted a picture of her with her bike. Wearing a crop top, she didn't appear to be pregnant, but she could be carrying small. It's unclear who the father of her unborn child is.
