The 'Quantum of Solace' star reveals that the short story is called 'Woke Bond Woman'.

AceShowbiz - Gemma Arterton has written a short story based on her Bond film character, Strawberry Fields.

The British actress starred in Quantum of Solace, opposite Daniel Craig, in 2008, and believes the high-profile role gave her a big career boost, while helping her secure the finances necessary to shoot her latest film, The Escape.

"I've written this short story, which I could get in so much trouble for," she tells Cover Media. "It's called Woke Bond Woman and it's about what my Bond girl should have done, but it's really funny".

Meanwhile, Gemma thinks it is high time a woman took on the James Bond role, but she doesn't want a female 007 to become just like 007: "I've always thought there should be a Bond woman... (but) I wouldn't want to see her take advantage of a young man," the actress adds.

But Arterton has other roles planned for herself - including a film project with Felicity Jones, thanks to the stars' commitment to the Time'sUp anti-harassment and equality movement.

"We're part of this Time'sUp movement, where all of these actresses, and writers, and directors, and filmmakers that are female get together and meet and just talk," the 32-year-old explains. "No way would I work with Felicity Jones in a movie because there's usually (only) one part for a woman of one age. And so, I meet her and say, 'Let's make a film together,' and she's like, 'Yeah'.

"This great collective voice is really encouraging and I just hope we will make more honest films about what it is to be a woman rather than what people would like to see".
