The home improvement cable network plans to restore the house to 'its 1970s glory as only HGTV can.'

AceShowbiz - Bosses at U.S. lifestyle channel HGTV have emerged as the buyers of TV's Brady Bunch home.
Fan Lance Bass thought he'd snapped up the property after going public with his plan to purchase the Studio City, California pad that doubled as the the Brady family's home on TV, but he was beaten to the sale by a better bid.
It has now emerged officials at the home and gardening network won the final bid.
They now hope to restore the house to its original glory.
"I am excited to share that HGTV is the winning bidder and will restore the Brady Bunch home to its 1970s glory as only HGTV can," Discovery CEO David Zaslav said during a second-quarterly earnings conference call. "More details to come over the next few months, but we will bring all the resources to bear to tell safe, fun stories with this beloved piece of American TV history."
The three-bedroom pad recently went on sale with a $1.88 million (GBP1.4 million) price tag. It is believed the winning offer far exceeded the sellers' dreams for the ranch house that has reportedly become America's second most photographed home behind the White House.
Kelsey McCallister Wittmer inherited the house after her grandparents, Violet & George McAllister, died. They bought the place in 1973. The home featured in the opening and closing scenes of the hit TV series, which aired from 1969 to 1974.
