The country singer also says that 'a willingness to want to live a different way' will help the Disney alum recover.

AceShowbiz - Keith Urban has offered some words of advice to Demi Lovato in the wake of her suspected overdose.

Keith previously battled his own drink and drugs demons, with his wife Nicole Kidman forced to stage an intervention in 2006 which resulted in a rehab stint for the country musician where he was finally able to kick the habit.

Asked to comment on Demi, who was hospitalised recently after a suspected drug overdose, Keith was happy to share some words of wisdom.

"I don't know anything about her personally," he admitted to Australian show Today Extra. "Just (to have) good people around her and a willingness to want to live a different way if that's what she wants to do. It's all up to her."

Since getting clean, Keith and Nicole have welcomed daughters Sunday and Faith, and the singer's career has gone from strength to strength.

The 50-year-old is currently in the midst of his "Graffiti U World Tour", and the New Zealand native announced on Monday, July 30 that he'll be bringing the show to Australia early next year.

"This Graffiti U world tour is by far the most insane energy we've ever seen at our shows," he told Music Feeds. "The way the record has been embraced here too (Australia) is extraordinary – so being able to bring those songs to life and have everyone singing them with us will be seriously awesome!

"I always love being able to bring the tour to Oz, but to also have Julia Michaels with us this time is incredible — and will be the first time we've ever toured together."

Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Julia will serve as the opening act for the Down Under dates, while Kelsea Ballerini has joined Keith on the U.S. leg of the tour.
