'Operation Repo' Star Carlos Lopez Jr. Dead at 35 From Suicide

The reality TV star was found on the balcony of his downtown L.A. apartment on Sunday evening with a gunshot wound to the head.

AceShowbiz - Carlos Lopez Jr., one of the repo guys on "Operation Guys", has passed away. He was found dead of apparent suicide on Sunday evening, June 24, according to TMZ which first reported the news. He was 35.

Law enforcement sources tell the site that Carlos' roommate discovered his body around 8 P.M. on the balcony of their downtown Los Angeles apartment. The roommate called 911, but by the time police and paramedics arrived, Carlos was pronounced dead at the scene.

Carlos, who starred on the car repossession reality series from 2012-14, had a gunshot wound to the head, which police believe was self-inflicted. He reportedly left a suicide note.

LAPD has confirmed the reports to Radar Online, "Last night at approximately 8 P.M., LAPD officers responded to the 100 Block of Hope Street in Downtown L.A. for a suicide." The Los Angeles County Coroner adds, "Mr. Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:06 P.M. yesterday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Toxicology reports are still pending."

His mother posted a tribute to her son on Facebook. "Our hearts are heavy. Our handsome adventurous and loving son Carlos Jr. Left is for Heaven yesterday and our hearts are so heavy," she wrote. "Keep our family and Carlos's friend Ronnie Lee in your prayers please. We've lost our eldest son and military warrior."

Carlos appeared in the last two seasons of "Operation Repo", which depicted the world of car repossession with a team that portrayed what were purported to be actual stories of car repossessions from California's San Fernando Valley. The show originally aired in Spanish language on Telemundo before it moved to truTV and crossed over to English language. It concluded on February 5, 2014 after eleven seasons.

Carlos also had several small roles on scripted TV shows, including "iCarly" and "CSI: Cyber". He also appeared on "America's Most Wanted: America Fights Back" and some films such as "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". His last film credit was Tom Cruise-starring "American Made", in which he portrayed a CIA station chief.

Carlos was also a U.S. Army veteran. According to his IMDb profile, he "served 37 months in combat with the 1st Cavalry, 82nd Airborne, 101st, 451st CA Bn."
