AceShowbiz - Queen Latifah is launching an initiative to help female directors fund and distribute their projects.

The Queen Collective will be used to develop productions across TV, film, and commercials and Latifah has paired with bosses at several companies including HP and Smirnoff to fund the projects, according to Deadline.

"We want (women) to tell their story and we'll bring it to market," she says in a statement. "It's very exciting".

It is unclear what projects are in the works for the Chicago star's collective, but she is ready to help in anyway she can.

"I'm going to get on the phone every hour," she adds. "Maybe I can point (people) in the right direction".
