The former child actor is set to play Calaf, a character who risks his life in an attempt to free Princess Turandot.

AceShowbiz - Dylan Sprouse dropped 30 pounds and learned to speak Mandarin for his latest film.
The former child actor, who found fame with his twin brother Cole on Disney Channel show "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" and Adam Sandler movie "Big Daddy", made a return to acting last year, with horror flick "Dismissed".
His next project is China-produced movie "Turandot", directed by Xiaolong Zheng.
Deadline announced his casting on Tuesday, May 29, with Dylan adding some more details to his 4.5 million Twitter followers.
"Proud to announce my participation in the huge Chinese fantasy romance movie, Turandot as Prince Calaf! Between losing 30lbs from combat training and speaking exclusively mandarin, this is a huge leap for me, read more here," he wrote with a link to Deadline's story.
The 25-year-old plays Calaf, a character who risks his life in an attempt to free Princess Turandot, played by Chinese actress Guan Xiaotong, who is cursed by a mysterious power emanating from three Mazovian bracelets that were given to her as birthday gifts.
While answering three riddles, one for each bracelet, Calaf inadvertently uncovers his own extraordinary past.
The film, an adaptation of Giacomo Puccini's opera of the same name, is in pre-production.

Like his brother Cole, Dylan enjoyed a long break from acting after "The Suite Life" wrapped in 2011. Both brothers enrolled in New York University, graduating in archaeology and video game design respectively.
Cole made his screen return a year before Dylan, in hit TV drama "Riverdale", with both Sprouses now firmly back in the acting game.
