AceShowbiz - Prince Harry was so in awe of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex's "incredible" wedding gown, he personally praised designer Clare Waight Keller during the couple's reception.
The former Suits actress surprised royal wedding guests and viewers alike by arriving at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday, May 19, in a white haute couture gown featuring an open bateau neckline, sculpted waist, and flowing train, and the Prince made sure to express his gratitude to the Givenchy artistic director as soon as he had the opportunity.
"He just came up to me and said, 'Oh my gosh, she (Meghan) looks incredible,'" Clare recalled to NBC News.
Many viewers actually caught Harry mouthing the words "You look amazing" to his bride as she reached the altar at the start of the ceremony.
Meghan had been working with Clare on the top secret project since early 2018, and made sure to include a special nod to the Commonwealth of Nations by having flowers representing each of the 53 countries hand-embroidered onto the trim of her 16-foot (4.88 metre) long silk tulle veil.
Veil makers had to wash their hands every 30 minutes to keep the tulle and threads pristine, and Clare was proud to have helped Meghan realise her creative dream.
"She was really thrilled (with the finished veil)...," the couturier explained. "I love the story of that (design) and she said that it was a really amazing moment for her as well, to have that idea of all of those countries walking with her through the ceremony."
Meghan later changed into a Stella McCartney silk crepe halterneck gown for the evening reception.
