AceShowbiz - With only one week to go before his self-titled album comes to stores, Shawn Mendes has given fans one last taste of the upcoming effort. The Canadian singer unleashed an emotional ballad "Where Were You in the Morning" on Friday, May 18.

The song finds Shawn singing about a girl who bailed on him in the morning without saying goodbye after having a one-night stand. "Where were you in the morning, baby?/ You didn't leave your number for me/ Left me without a warning, baby/ Where were you in the morning, baby?" he sings in falsetto, as a bluesy, soulful guitar accompanies him in the background.

"Where Were You in the Morning" is the fourth single off the album, following "In My Blood", "Lost in Japan" and "Youth" featuring Khalid. Shawn first premiered the single when he took the stage with John Mayer at the Ford Theaters in California on May 17. During the event, he also previewed some of the songs off the set as well as answers some fans' questions.

In support of the album, Shawn is set to embark on a tour in 2019. He will kick off the trek on March 7 in Amsterdam, Netherlands and wrap it up on August 24 in Brooklyn, New York. Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting from May 19.

Besides preparing to release his album, it seems Shawn may have another project in hands. BTS (Bangtan Boys), who just released their new album "Love Yourself: Tear", recently teased a possible collaboration with the "Treat You Better" singer.

The South Korean boyband told E! News that the met Shawn at the 2017 American Music Awards, adding that they were in "some kind of conversation" about working together. "Maybe someday," they teased. "If Shawn likes it."

Both Shawn and BTS are scheduled to perform at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on May 20.
