AceShowbiz - Actor Oliver Hudson missed out on a role in hit TV show "This Is Us" after blowing off an audition to go fishing. The "Scream Queens" star was up for the role of Jack Pearson and TV bosses asked him to come in for a second audition to test his chemistry with show star Mandy Moore, but he turned the opportunity down because he had a fishing excursion planned.
"I had a 10-day fishing trip planned, and it's my life," he tells the LadyGang podcast. "Fishing is a big part of my life and it was this 10-day fishing trip."
"My agent said, 'We got a test. They really like you,' " he continued. "I said, 'Ooh, I'm supposed to be going on a fishing trip'. He's like, 'OK. So? This is a big thing.' And I said, 'You know what? I'm going to do my fishing trip.' "
The role of Jack Pearson subsequently went to Milo Ventimiglia.
