AceShowbiz - Here's the first teaser of "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off "Mayans MC", which has been long developed by the original series creator, Kurt Sutter. Set to a Spanish-language cover of The Rolling Stones' "Paint It, Black", it doesn't include any dialogs or hints at the plot, as it only features the motorbike gang riding together on the road.
"Fly our colors. Ride with the Mayans M.C. this fall on FX," reads the caption. No exact premiere date for the 10-episode first season is announced just yet by the network, which also aired "SOA" from 2008 until 2014.
Fans can expect more sneak peeks at the new series at the ATX Television Festival in Austin on June 8.
According to the official logline, "Mayans M.C." is a drama series from Kurt Sutter and Elgin James based on the "Sons of Anarchy" saga. It is set in a post Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes is a prospect in the Mayan M.C. charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now EZ must carve out his new outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy with the American Dream in his grasp.
Previous description of EZ said that he is the gifted son of a proud Latino family, whose American dream was snuffed out by cartel violence. Now, his need for vengeance drives him toward a life he never intended and can never escape.
JD Pardo takes the lead role of EZ, with Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo and Carla Baratta also among the cast members. Tony Plana and Gino Vento will play recurring roles on the new series.
Kurt Sutter, who was originally tapped to direct the pilot, handed over the directorial duties to Nortero Barba to focus on writing the script alongside Elgin James. The show underwent a reshoot last year after it recast some key roles.
