Fans of the rock band are launching the Facebook campaign to protest against the president's visit to the country in July.

AceShowbiz - Green Day fans have launched an online campaign to get the band's "American Idiot" anthem to number one on the U.K. charts ahead of President Donald Trump's visit this summer. The president will visit the U.K. in July and the band's fans are protesting by supporting the Facebook campaign.

"He's coming Friday 13th July... so if we ALL buy enough downloads of Green Day's 'American Idiot' between Friday 6th - Thursday 12th it will time PERFECTLY to hit No.1 the very day he arrives on UK soil!" a message on the social media site reads.

"American Idiot" was written in 2004, when George W. Bush was president. Green Day's frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was critical of Bush and has also spoken out against Trump, demanding fans hold him to account and call for his removal during Green Day's 2017 tour.
