Josh Trank, who is directing the upcoming biopic titled 'Fonzo', reveals he has been a fan of the Run the Jewels rapper since he was a teenager.

AceShowbiz - Run the Jewels' El-P has signed on to score Tom Hardy's new Al Capone movie "Fonzo". Hardy will portray the Chicago mob boss and bootlegger in the movie, written and directed by Josh Trank, who explains he has been a fan of the rapper since he was a teenager, and he is thrilled he will be able to work with him.

"Since I was 14 years old, El-P's music has been one of the most important creative influences in my life," Trank says. "There's literally no greater honor for me than to collaborate with him today and bear witness to this next stage of his artistic journey."

"I'm thrilled to be a part of this movie," El-P adds. "I'm a huge fan of everyone involved."

The film, which chronicles a 47-year-old Capone battling dementia following a decade behind bars, also stars Linda Cardellini, Kyle MacLachlan, Matt Dillon and Jack Lowden. The project began production in New Orleans, Louisiana earlier this month.

News of El-P's involvement comes a few weeks after he shared a clip of his rejected "Blade Runner 2049" trailer score. Film composer Hans Zimmer was given the job of scoring the 2017 film, but El-P was briefly on director Denis Villeneuve's playlist when he was looking for someone to take charge of the music for the movie's teaser. The Run the Jewels star offered up a demo but it was rejected.
