AceShowbiz - The Weeknd is currently gearing up for his performance at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival after releasing his surprise EP "My Dear Melancholy". Rumor has it, the Canadian singer is planning an epic performance of his alleged Selena Gomez diss track "Call Out My Name" off the effort.
A source revealed to HollywoodLife.com that The Weeknd "needed to do it." The so-called source added, "And he can't wait to sing the song live at Coachella because it will be a cathartic experience for him to finally get over her."
Reps for The Weeknd have yet to respond to the report.
Prior to headlining the festival, which will be held in Indio, California, the singer released a lyric video for "Call Out My Name" on April 2. The visuals features the "Starboy" hitmaker belting out the song in a slew of antique televisions.
"I said I didn't feel nothing, baby, but I lied/ I almost cut a piece of myself for your life," he sings, seemingly referring to his ex-girlfriend's kidney transplant. "Guess I was just another pit stop/ 'Til you made up your mind/ You just wasted my time."
"My Dear Melancholy" was released on Friday, March 30 after The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, teased it on Instagram two days before its release. Aside from Selena, fans are also convinced that The Weeknd sings about Bella Hadid in track "Wasted Times".
"You were equestrian, so ride it like a champion," he sings. It's worth noting that Bella was an equestrian prior to suffering from Lyme Disease, which made her give up her aspirations of competing in the Olympics.
According to music industry forecaster, the album will likely debut atop the Billboard 200 chart and mark the singer's third consecutive No. 1 album.
