According to a statement on Saturday, March 24, the decision to pull the plug on the Marvel animated series was made 'due to creative differences.'

AceShowbiz - It's such unfortunate news for "Deadpool" fans. FX has pulled the plug on its then-planned "Deadpool" animated TV series. The series was initially set to be executive produced by "Atlanta" creator/executive producer/star Donald Glover before the network decides to cancel the Marvel series.

According to a statement released on Saturday, March 24, the decision was made "due to creative differences." The statement read, "Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel's 'Deadpool' animated series. FX will no longer be involved with the project. FX and Marvel have an ongoing relationship through our partnership on 'Legion', which will continue."

Back in May, FX gave a 10-episode straight-to-series order to the project. The animated series was previously scheduled to premiere sometime this year on FX Networks' comedy-focused FXX.

It remains to be seen whether Marvel will redevelop the animated series. The possibility is always there, considering the huge success of the franchise on big screen with the sequel, "Deadpool 2", hitting U.S. theaters on May 18.

Fans understandably were left disappointed with the cancellation. Some fans were taking to Twitter to express their feelings. "I'm not getting an aquaman trailer, the deadpool cartoon is cancelled, what's next they finna cancel titans?!?!" a fan tweeted. Another fan added, "Just when I thought I was having a good day."

"Just got the news that the Deadpool animated series that was to air in June...... Is cancelled. Why?!?!" a confused fan asked. Another fan, meanwhile, blamed FX for the cancellation, tweeting, "FX, if you have 'creative differences' with DONALD GLOVER, then maybe, JUST MAYBE, you might be the problem. It's DONALD GLOVER."

Other fans opted to react with a GIF and screenshot from "Deadpool" movie and comics. One fan shared a pic of the Mech with a Mouth hilariously crying "manly tears." Meanwhile, another fan posted a GIF of Ryan Reynolds's Deadpool faking a laugh while "hiding real pain."
