Ben Higgins Exits 'Bachelor Winter Games', Reveals He Hasn't Moved On From Lauren Bushnell
TV

The former 'Bachelor' star tells host Chris Harrison, 'As much as I've moved on--and I have--it still hurts, even though we're months past it.'

AceShowbiz - Ben Higgins broke so many hearts after he exited "The Bachelor Winter Games", citing his old love as the reason. Ben revealed to pal Ashley Iaconetti and Chris Harrison that he didn't really connect with anyone romantically on the show, adding that he was not ready for a new love after breaking up with Lauren Bushnell in early 2017.

"The idea of going on a date sounds like a chore to me," he told Ashley. "It doesn't sound fun."

"It's like, when you get engaged, I truly was so excited about the idea that like, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life with this person," Ben continued. "But I think I don't want to be hurt again. Like, I desire a relationship and I dream of kids and I dream of family and I dream of being a good dad and a good husband, but I also have to get to a place where I'm excited about dating, and I'm not."

"To be honest, I'm still emotionally dealing with the loss of that relationship," he went on telling the cameras. "At some point, I have to ask the question what exactly am I doing here? So I'm confused."

Ben told Chris that "a lot of weird memories" were brought up during his appearance on "The Bachelor Winter Games". He explained that it was because the last time he participated on the show, it led to one of the best moments of his life. "Right here, right now, it just doesn't feel right," he said. "My fear is that if I were to be broken again, I'm not full enough right now to recover from that."

While crying, he went on saying that it was hurt to see people doubting his role for Lauren. "But when something so real to you then seems so small to everybody else--and not just friends and family, millions of people--it breaks you every day, and that's what sucks, because as much as I've moved on--and I have--it still hurts, even though we're months past it," he told the host.

Ben and Lauren, who met on Ben's season of "The Bachelor", called it quits in May 2017, saying in a statement, "It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways." They stated that they would "remain friends with much love and respect for one another" and "wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time."

"The Bachelor Winter Games" concludes this Thursday, February 22 at 8 P.M. on ABC.
