AceShowbiz - Just when it seems like Britney Spears is done with her popular Las Vegas residency "Piece of Me", she surprises fans with an announcement that she will be taking the show on a tour. She shared the good news on social media on Tuesday, January 23, revealing that she would bring the show to selected cities in North America as well as some countries in Europe.
Along with a clip of her "Toxic" performance, she wrote, "I'm so excited to announce that we're bringing the #PieceOfMe tour to select cities in North America, Europe and the UK! See you guys this summer!"
The songstress is scheduled to kick off the tour on July 12 at MGM National Harbor in Washington D.C. The tour includes stops in New York City, Hollywood and Oslo, Norway. She will wrap up the 23-date limited tour on August 24 at O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom. Tickets will go on sale starting from Friday, January 26. Complete information regarding the ticket sales is available on Britney's website.
Her Las Vegas residency first opened on December 27, 2013. Though there were plenty of people who were quick to criticize the show, she's proven everyone wrong as her show became one of the most successful residencies, grossing over $100 million in ticket sales. Caesars Entertainment's senior vice president Jason Gastwirth stated that her residency "paved the way for other artists to make Las vegas their home and as a result, the top entertainment destination in the world."
The "Gimme More" songstress ended her four-year residency on December 31 last year, having her performances of "Work B**ch!" and "Toxic" being broadcast on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve". Britney started the rendition of "Toxic" by singing on a giant tree prop before majestically going down to the ground with the help of wires. She then was joined by a group of backup dancers.
