Unlike the previous seasons which would allow the winner of final immunity challenge to vote out one contestant, this season offered a controversial twist.

AceShowbiz - "Survivor: Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers" aired its finale on Wednesday, December 20. After 39 days and controversial twist, season 35 of CBS' reality TV show announced its winner, who would took home $1 million grand prize.
The final five consisted of two Heroes (Chrissy and Ben), two Hustlers (Devon and Ryan) and one Healer (Mike). Ben didn't waste much time as he immediately ran off to find another immunity idol right after they got back from the last tribal. While the other four plotted a plan to vote him out, Ben found his third idol!
Chrissy later tried to re-make an alliance with Ben in order for her to get a place in final four, but Ben saw right through her. The Immunity Challenge saw contestants maneuvering a series of water obstacles to grab keys and unlock pieces to a puzzle, which they had to solve later. Chrissy won the challenge and picked Mike and Devon to join her to get a reward of comfort food.
They came up with a plan to fool Ben by saying that they had a "super immunity idol." The plan didn't work out, obviously, because Ben was the one who had it. But he opted to play along and acted that his game was over. Mike was later eliminated, meaning that Chrissy, Ryan, Devon and Ben were moving to final four.
At the final immunity challenge, the final four were tasked to balance letter blocks on sturdy platforms, making it to spell out "Heroes Healers Hustlers". Chrissy once again won the challenge and earned her fourth individual immunity and a spot in the final three.
Unlike the previous seasons which would allow the winner of final immunity challenge to vote out one contestant, this season offered a controversial twist. Chrissy would get to pick one contestant to be with her in the final three, while the other two would be put against each other at fire-making challenge.
This new twist was a huge advantage for Ben since his chance to be one of the final three contestants went from zero to a 50-percent chance. As Chrissy, Devon and Ryan's plan was to eliminate Ben, Chrissy picked Ryan to be one of the final three since she didn't think Ryan had a chance to beat Ben. Ben bested Davon though, joining Chrissy and Ryan on the final three.
Ben was later announced as the winner by the jury for his amazing idol play. The jury also praised him for surviving even when others desperately wanted to vote him out. Ben got four votes, Chrissy got three while Ryan only managed to get one vote. Congratulations, Ben!
