AceShowbiz - Red Velvet has scored another No. 1 album on Billboard's World Album chart. The five-piece Korean girl group's second full-length album, "Perfect Velvet", arrives at No. 1 on this week's chart, marking the group's fourth No. 1 album on the chart following "The Red", "Rookie" and "The Red Summer". It makes the group the first Korean girl group ever to top the chart four times.
Not only Red Velvet becomes the first K-Pop girl group to rule the chart four times, but they also accomplish the feat of becoming a tie for the most No. 1 albums on the chart among all K-pop acts. B.A.P., Bangtan Boys a.k.a BTS and GOT7 had been holding the record until the girl group join in.
"Perfect Velvet" also debuts at No. 3 on the Heartseekers Album chart, marking the ladies' highest position as well as their first top 5 entry on the chart. On the other hand, lead track "Peek-A-Boo" arrives at No. 2 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart. Red Velvet previously hit as high with their banger "Russian Roulette", which was released in 2016.
Their accomplishments aside, Red Velvet recently went to Singapore for "Shilla Beauty Concert", which was held in celebration for the opening of the new Shilla Duty Free shop at the Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4. Prior to the concert, the group, who debuted in 2014, held a press conference where they talked about their upcoming plans.
According to Soompi, leader Irene shared at the press conference that they would be bringing their first concert called "Red Room" to Japan on March 28 and 29 next year. Irene also stated that the group hoped that they would be able to hold the concert in other countries.
Red Velvet is currently gearing up for their performance at the 2017 MAMA in Hongkong, which will be held on December 1. It has been confirmed that the girl group will be collaborating with fellow SM Entertainment talent NCT 127 at the event.
